San Antonio, Texas- Come interact with the new traveling exhibition by local artist couple, Maureen (aka Momo) Brown and Charles Harrison (aka Pompa), titled, “San Antonio Fandango: Art by Momo & Pompa” in the San Antonio Central Public Library Gallery from February 6 – March 31, 2018, (Free Public Exhibition Open Mon-Fri 9am-9pm & Sat 9am-5pm; Sun 11am-5pm during normal Central Library Hours).

Momo & Pompa’s free public engaging exhibition will pay tribute to 300+ years of San Antonio’s rich heritage with an interactive art experience designed for “Children of ALL ages”! The artists’ mission is to inspire and promote our heritage through their whimsical inquisitive colorful mixed media contemporary art with paintings, photography, sculptures, coloring books and games (including an exhibit scavenger hunt). Momo’s style is free flowing interwoven “puzzle-like” animals created in the moment and Pompa’s style includes massive mixed media colorful light sculptures and paintings. Their collaboration is full of surprises. The exhibit includes a free-standing 15 foot double-sided mural “From Dawn to Dusk: South Texas Habitat and Mexican Free-Tailed Bats” now owned and part of the education program of Bat Conservation International and Bracken Cave and on display on the 6th floor of the Central Library in the Texana and Genealogy Department. The main gallery exhibits highlight the heritage of our beautiful city from flora and fauna, south Texas rock art, the San Antonio mission trail, to landmarks and urban San Antonio. In addition the artists are launching a new coloring book highlighting San Antonio’s downtown attractions with animals and our local legend characters. Several library events will be in the gallery throughout the month of March. Be sure to check the SAPL events calendar for details.
