Fiery custom fire place sculpture
Jill Wilson's glass studio fills 1,000 feet in the funky DiamondKut Salon at 2922 Hillcrest between Fredericksburg Rd and Babcock. Wilson makes her own wood or welded stands for glass sculptures seen in galleries in Colorado and Texas. Her skill in combining strong colors is apparent in these sculptures. However, the funny side of life is seen in her glass animal charicatures, as well as fish, masks, mermaids, or whatever else intrigues her.
Wilson first became known for distinctive glass jewelry shown through the prestigious Pismo Art Glass Gallery in Colorado. She now makes it available in San Antonio at the SAVA Gallery in RiverCenter Mall. She teaches jewelry making in glass fusing classes for Northside ISD at the DiamondKut studio location.
Coming late to glass, Wilson has an MBA in Finance and owned WilsonSchanzer Real Estate and SCG Realty Services before becoming a ski bum at age fifty.
