Waking from Recklessness, Ballet Conservatory's most recent new program will include three original contemporary works created on Ballet Conservatory dancers by choreographers from three parts of the country (Michelle Thompson, Ballet Austin; Laura Faria, Massachusetts; Nell Shipman, resident choreographer for Portland Ballet, ME), as well as internationally sought- after choreographer, Adam Houghland.  Houghland's "Freeflow" will be danced by guest soloists, Erica Dela O and Kristopher Wojtera. Daniela Kurtz's  (Director Tanztheater Nuernburg, Germany) Thompson's piece is inspired by Philip Guston's "Ocean", found in the contemporary art section of the San Antonio Museum of Art, while Faria's piece Staralfur" is abstract. Shipman's "Upstream" is about going against the tide. "High Heel Blues" will also be performed by Artistic Director Catherine Batcheller dancing, and Bett Butler singing this piece live.  Guest artist Seme Jatib will perform her "Love Letters".

The second half of the program will include Dela O and Wojtera in the famous pas de deux "Le Corsaire" and the Ballet Conservatory dancers will perform "Divertissements from the Ballet Raymonda", staged by Batcheller after Marius Petitpa.
